Isnes, Belgium (October 9, 2012) – iSTAR Medical SA (iSTAR), a medical device company specializing in ophthalmic implants, announced today the addition of Sheng Lim, MD, to its Scientific Advisory Board (SAB).
Dr. Lim strengthens the SAB’s expertise in ophthalmology and biomaterials, particularly in the area of medical implant therapies for Glaucoma disease management. Dr. Lim is currently a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London where he specializes in Glaucoma and Cataract Surgery. He was appointed to head the glaucoma service at St Thomas’ Hospital in 2006 following his general and specialist training in ophthalmology both in the UK and USA. Dr. Lim’s extensive experience offers valued guidance and insight to iSTAR as the company advances its research and development efforts and expands its product pipeline.
Dr. Lim is a respected expert in the treatment of glaucoma and has a keen appreciation of the need for better ophthalmic device biomaterials to enhance the lives of patients. The team is very pleased to have Dr. Lim on board and we look forward to working with him.
