Prof. Dr Christoph Hirneiß is a Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Munich and a Glaucoma Specialist at the University Eye Hospital, Munich, and Augenarztpraxis Prof. Hirneiss in Munich.
Prof. Hirneiß specialises in glaucoma surgery, both penetrating and non-penetrating filtration, aqueous drainage devices, MIGS, cataract surgery including combination surgery, and surgery for congenital and childhood glaucoma. He is a member of the following specialist societies: DOG, BVA, EGP, ARVO and AAO, and an examiner at the European Board of Ophthalmology exams in Paris.
Prof. Hirneiß earned his medical degree at the University of Regensburg and the University of Munich. He performed his residency at the Department of Ophthalmology in the University of Munich until 2007, becoming Head of the Glaucoma Department at the University Eye Hospital, Munich, in 2008. In 2015, Prof Hirneiß became Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Munich.
